Ladders: The handy tool that everyone wants in their home (and not just for climbing)
Posted On: 11-02-2016

We all know how handy ladders and step ladders can be, and most of us have them in our homes. However, in recent times, they have become more than just a way to elevate us; they have become a quirky addition to our home décor.

Below are a few examples of some of the best uses of ladders as furnishings that we have come across:

Bookshelves

Ladder and step ladder bookshelves are bang on trend at the moment and using them can create a cool look but can be a cheap way to style your house. So, breathe new life into your old ladders, put your books on a lovely new shelf and put your feet up and enjoy the new look in your living room.

Bathroom shelving

If you’re looking for shelving for your toiletries or towels, using an old ladder or step can provide you with an excellent style. This look is simple but extremely effective and can completely change the look of a boring bathroom

Shoe storage

Need more storage space for your shoes? If you’ve got an old ladder to hand, look no further. The examples below show how handy they work as shoe racks and tidy hall way storage.

Kitchen shelving

Kitchens can look tired and old fashioned very quickly, but you can give your kitchen a new lease of life by adding ladder shelving and racks. Hang up your pans by suspending a vintage ladder from your kitchen ceiling, or get creative by using a ladder or step to make unique shelves for your cups, plates and spices.

Garden furniture

Using ladders as garden shelving or storage can work well whether you have a large garden or a small one. They are a great way to display plants, flowers, herbs or even just a nice watering can and gardening tools.
